Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty and eternal God, You choose the weak in this world to confound the strong. Grant that we who celebrate the heavenly birthday of Your martyr Saint Agnes may follow her example of faith and purity.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Meditation
Agnes was only twelve or thirteen when she was martyred. In that young body lived a soul of heroic virtue. She teaches us that age is no barrier to holiness.
Young girls today face many pressures and temptations. St. Agnes is their special protector and model, showing that purity and courage are possible at any age.

St. Agnes, patron of young girls, protect and guide all girls today. Help them to be strong in faith and pure in heart like you.

O glorious St. Agnes, at such a tender age you gave your life for Christ rather than lose your purity. You showed that even the young can be heroic in faith.
Protect all young girls and help them to treasure their purity. Obtain for us all the grace to love Christ above all earthly things.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
