For the light of faith
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Opening Prayer
Glorious St. Lucy, virgin and martyr, who preferred to shed your blood rather than stain yourself with sin, obtain for us from God the grace to live in purity and holiness.
You who are the patron of sight, illuminate the eyes of our body and those of our soul. Free us from spiritual blindness and help us always to see the path that leads to God. Amen.
Reflection
The name Lucy means 'light.' St. Lucy was a light of faith in the midst of the darkness of persecution. Her faith shone with such intensity that neither threats nor torments could extinguish it.
Daily Prayer
St. Lucy, light of faith, illuminate my soul with the light of Christ. May my faith shine in the midst of the world's darkness. Free me from the darkness of sin and doubt. Help me be a light for others. Amen.
Closing Prayer
St. Lucy, virgin and martyr, pray for us. St. Lucy, light of faith, pray for us.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
