For protection from evil
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prayer to St. Michael
O Glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against spirits of evil in the high places.
Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven.
Reflection
St. Michael's very name means 'Who is like God?' This was his battle cry when Lucifer and the rebel angels declared 'I will not serve.' St. Michael led the faithful angels in casting the evil spirits out of heaven. He continues this role as protector of God's people against all forms of evil.
Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defender of God's people, I ask for your protection against all evil. Shield me from the attacks of the enemy. Guard my mind against evil thoughts, my heart against temptation, and my soul against sin. Stand between me and all those who wish me harm, whether visible or invisible. By your powerful intercession, may I be kept safe under God's protection. Amen.
St. Michael Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Reflection
St. Michael's cry 'Who is like God?' reminds us that no creature can compare to the Creator. While Lucifer's pride caused his fall, Michael's humility kept him in God's presence. True humility recognizes that all our gifts come from God and that we are nothing without Him.
Prayer
St. Michael, model of humility, you recognized that only God deserves worship and glory. Help me to grow in humility. Root out the pride in my heart that makes me think I am better than others or that I don't need God. Teach me to give all glory to God and to serve Him with a humble heart. May I never fall into the sin of pride that caused Lucifer's downfall. Amen.
