For Humility
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O God, who chose the humble and lowly to confound the wise and powerful, grant that through the intercession of St. Bernadette we may follow her example of humility, simplicity, and faithfulness to Your grace.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Meditation
Bernadette was the eldest of six children in a desperately poor family. She was sickly, uneducated, and considered slow by her teachers. Yet God chose her to receive one of the greatest Marian apparitions in history.
When asked why Mary chose her, Bernadette replied, 'If the Blessed Virgin could have found anyone more ignorant than me, she would have chosen her.' Her humility was profound and sincere.
Prayer
St. Bernadette, you were humble and simple of heart. Help me to be humble, to recognize my own littleness before God, and to let Him work through me.

Prayer to St. Bernadette
O St. Bernadette, you saw Our Lady at Lourdes and received her message for the world. You suffered much in life but remained faithful to the end.
Pray for me that I may, like you, be simple and humble. Help all who are sick and suffering, and lead us to the healing waters of grace that flow from your Lady of Lourdes.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
