For the poor
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Opening Prayer
O God, by whose grace blessed Elizabeth of Hungary recognized and revered Christ in the poor, grant through her intercession that we may serve with unfailing charity the needy and those afflicted.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Meditation
Elizabeth was a princess who could have lived in luxury, but she chose to serve the poor. She built hospitals, distributed food, and personally cared for the sick. In the poor, she saw Christ.
The poor are always with us. Elizabeth calls us to see them, to serve them, and to love them.
Prayer
St. Elizabeth, you loved the poor with all your heart. Open my eyes to the poor around me. Help me to serve them as you did.

Prayer to St. Elizabeth of Hungary
O charitable St. Elizabeth, you gave away your royal garments to clothe the poor and fed the hungry from your own table. Obtain for me a generous heart that sees Christ in those who suffer and serves them with joy.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
St. Elizabeth of Hungary, pray for us. Amen.
