Meditation
St. Philip Neri was known throughout Rome for his infectious joy. He used humor, practical jokes, and laughter to draw people to God. He once said, 'A joyful heart is more easily made perfect than a downcast one.'
His joy was not superficial but flowed from his deep union with God. It attracted countless souls who saw in him the happiness that comes from holiness.

St. Philip Neri, your joy attracted many to Christ. Help me to be joyful in my faith and to show others the happiness that comes from knowing God.

Prayer to St. Philip Neri
O holy St. Philip Neri, patron of joy, you showed the world that holiness and happiness go together. Your heart was so filled with divine love that it literally enlarged within you.
Obtain for me a joyful spirit, a humble heart, and a burning love for God. Help me to attract others to Christ through my cheerfulness and charity.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
St. Philip Neri, pray for us. Amen.
