For the unemployed

Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Opening Prayer

O God, who gave Saint Cajetan the grace to live in the likeness of the apostles, grant through his intercession and example that we may trust always in You and seek above all else Your Kingdom.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Meditation

St. Cajetan is the patron of the unemployed because he trusted in God's providence for all his needs. He founded the Theatines without any endowment, trusting that God would provide.

Unemployment brings stress, anxiety, and hardship. Cajetan intercedes for those seeking work, asking God to provide for their needs.

Prayer

St. Cajetan, patron of the unemployed, pray for all who are seeking work. Help them to find dignified employment that will support them and their families.

Prayer to St. Cajetan

O glorious St. Cajetan, you trusted so completely in Divine Providence that you founded a religious community without any material security. You taught your followers to seek first the Kingdom of God.

Obtain for me the grace to trust in God's providence, especially when I face financial difficulties or unemployment. Help me to work honestly and to rely on God for all my needs.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

St. Cajetan, pray for us. Amen.
