For Parish Priests
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, You raised up St. John Vianney as a model of pastoral zeal and holiness. Through his intercession, grant us the grace to approach the sacraments with love and devotion, and help all priests to imitate his tireless dedication to souls.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Meditation
St. John Vianney was assigned to the tiny, neglected village of Ars. Many thought him unfit for the priesthood due to his academic struggles. Yet God used this humble, prayerful man to transform a spiritually dead village into a place of pilgrimage.
He said, 'The priesthood is the love of the Heart of Jesus.' His love for souls was so great that he spent up to 18 hours a day hearing confessions.
Prayer
St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests, pray for all priests, especially parish pastors. Give them your zeal for souls and your love for the sacraments.

Prayer to St. John Vianney
St. John Vianney, you had an extraordinary love for souls and spent your life bringing them to God through the confessional. Pray for all priests that they may share your zeal for the salvation of souls.
Intercede for those who have wandered from the faith, that they may return to the sacraments. Help us all to appreciate the gift of confession and to receive it frequently.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
St. John Vianney, pray for us. Amen.
