For Faith

Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Opening Prayer

O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II and for allowing the tenderness of Your Fatherly care, the glory of the Cross of Christ, and the splendor of the Holy Spirit to shine through him.

Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life.

Meditation

St. John Paul II said: 'Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth.' His entire pontificate was marked by a profound faith that was intellectually rigorous yet deeply personal.

From his youth in Nazi-occupied Poland to his final days, his faith never wavered. He showed us that faith is not opposed to reason but fulfills it.

Prayer

St. John Paul II, your faith sustained you through persecution, an assassination attempt, and illness. Help me to have a faith that is strong, intelligent, and unwavering.

Prayer to St. John Paul II

O St. John Paul, from the window of heaven, grant us your blessing! Bless the Church that you loved and served and guided, courageously leading it along the paths of the world in order to bring Jesus to everyone and everyone to Jesus.

Bless the young, who were your great passion. Help them dream again, help them look up to the sky again to find the light that illuminates the paths of life here on earth.

Bless families, bless each family! You warned of Satan's assault against this precious and indispensable divine spark that God lit on earth. St. John Paul, with your prayer, may you protect the family and every life that blossoms from the family.

Pray for the whole world, still marked by tensions, wars, and injustice. You opposed war by invoking dialogue and planting the seeds of love: pray for us so that we may be tireless sowers of peace.

St. John Paul II, pray for us!

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
